Network Administrator, Information Technology at American Legacy Foundation (Washington, DC)

JOB DESCRIPTION: 


The Network Administrator will be responsible for the administration and assisting in the management of the day-to-day operations of the LAN infrastructure, performing maintenance and administration of all servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and all other equipment pertaining to the office infrastructure.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 



  • Minimum of five (5) years hands-on working in an IT operations environment.

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, switches, routers, firewalls.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot VOlP phone system.

  • Troubleshoot network related problems.

  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to current network configuration and diagram.

  • Provide support to end-users.

  • Manage daily data back-up of network servers and perform restores.

  • Stay abreast of current technology and security issues.

  • Monitor and ensure the day-to-day uptime and maximum performance of the network.

  • Monitor and maintain appropriate anti-virus and patch management systems, ensuring up-to-date virus protection and updates of all workstations.

  • Research user requirements and make recommendations.

  • Implement improvements in infrastructure.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot AV equipment.

  • Train end-users on system usage.


QUALIFICATIONS:


The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree plus 5-8 years of experience.  This position will require proficiency with the following applications: Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010, Outlook 1010, Microsoft Office365, Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition, Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013, Microsoft Visio, Windows Server 2008/2012, Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012, IIS 7.0, Virtualization, Enterprise Backup solutions (Backup Exec and Dell AppAssure preferred) and Symantec Ghost.  Must be familiar and comfortable working with UNIX, Apple and MAC OS based applications. A strong understanding of LAN, WAN, WLAN, MS Active Directory, TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, routers, switching, and firewall technologies is essential.  Candidates must have strong technical and problem solving skills.  Other essential skills are to be a team player with good customer-service, leadership, and communication skills. 


Required Certifications (Minimum of 2 of more):          



  • A+

  • CCNA (Strongly preferred with application experience)

  • MCP

  • Security +

  • ITILv3F


COMPENSATION PACKAGE:


Salary range is $71K-$80K based on experience with EXCELLENT benefits.
